One day as my mom

I noticed a shoe,
a plain brown
shoe,
clog maybe
slip on,
but only one
and not two.
Then I wondered what
it was thinking
for it was just sitting there,
laying there,
waiting,
without a care.
"Is it still there?"
I wonder,
but then I remember,
it was just one,
and not two.
